Hi everyone,

Ive heard Ted play some beatiful bossa tunes here on the site and I was wondering if Ted talked much about rhytmic exercises in a bossa/latin context? Claves, harmonic-rhytm, bassline independence vs. rich voicings etc?

Any material available?

Best wishes to all, and one extra warm to Barbara for doing such a wonderful job.

Michael

Hi Michael,

You can check out one of Ted's lesson tapes. The lesson with the file name:

Ted Greene Guitar lesson 082294.m4a

In that lesson Ted goes over the great tune Corcovado (although we are all over the place :-)) (check out the beginning and around minute 23)

Cheers,
Mark

Yes, The Brazilian Guitar Book/CD by Nelson Faria is an excellent study for bossa nova as well as many other Brazilain rhythms for guitar.  Well worth the $$.

BTW, Nelson also studied with Ted and there is an acknowledgement to Ted in the preface.
