In one of the posts in the "1st Ted Greene Memorial Picnic" the subject of pedals was introduced (page 8 of the messages). On 5/29/07 Barbara posted three pages of pedals with 10th intervals.
Steve B. asked: "In the 70's Ted spent a lot of time with me on Pedals (not effect pedals), but pedal points. They became one of my favorite sounds, and still are. I wrote out pages of them based on the rules and regulations he taught me. But, I no longer have those pages...went up in smoke with the guitars. What I remember is: closed or open chord, holding the R or 5th moving the other notes up or down diatonically. BUT, I think there were more options (more to it...)? I don't remember seeing Pedals as a subject here. Is this a start?" I got a few other pages that deal with pedals that I'd like to share, and I hope there are more out there. I really like this sound - very soothing, and they have unlimited possibility for various applications. (Perhaps the pages on Pedals with 10ths can be moved here, since this is a more logical place rather than the picnic messages.) Update: the pages are now located here: http://www.tedgreene.com/images/lessons/baroque/10ths_InnerPedals_1.pdf http://www.tedgreene.com/images/lessons/baroque/10ths_InnerPedals_2.pdf http://www.tedgreene.com/images/lessons/baroque/10ths_InnerPedals_3.pdf __________________ --Paul
