A big hello to all you great people here in TG land!

I have been following this forum for a long time, but this is my first post.

Does anyone have any info on how Ted organized five note voicings? His system of voicing groups seems to only cover 4 part harmony. Given all the great 5 note voicings in his books and in his playing, I am sure he had some system dealing with these chords as well.

Hello Epsen, Ted had 100's of ways of organizing 5 note voicings - he experimented with every conceivable possibility.  He developed many systems - and continued to do this through his last days on the planet.
Here are two examples, to give you an idea of the complexity and thoroughness of his work.  Barbara

note the dates on the 1st sheet:  2/17/80, 6/8/84, and his last written notation 1/7/95

Wow!
Thank you Barbara!

Ted talks about these "V"-voicing groups in one of the Mark Levy lessons. And these sheets really shed some light on the matter.
