Another ii-V-I from Ted:
Anyone want to tell us what voicing group the Ab9 belongs to?

Neat movement, sorry to say I haven't really dug into the V-System yet. Bad David!

OK, time's up.  Go study your V-System and you will recognize the Ab9 is a V-3.

Try this one on for size: from "Whole Tone Modulators, major key to New I"
(which can be found in the "Harmony & Theory" section).
Extra points for V-System numbers.

That's a trick question. the first one (without the X) is a V-2, then with the X it's a V-1, and so is the last one. There's an easy way of recognizing V-1s: all the notes are within an octave.

Here's a little move for a Pentatonic sound.
From Ted's "V-2 Major Pentatonic" found in the "V-System" section under V-2:
http://www.tedgreene.com/images/lessons/v_system/V-2_Major_Pentatonic_1987.pdf

Can you continue up pass the C/9 chord (the fourth one)?

Another excerpt from Ted's "A Certain Smile, comping" page:
