I'm not sure if Ted recommended anything specific - and I'm sure someone will chime in if he did - but I humbly submit that my own book on right hand technique would be helpful for fingerstyle guitarists in all styles. You can take a look here:

I don't believe that Ted had any specific right-hand exercises - certainly nothing like one gets in formal classical guitar study.
I think in one audio lesson he said something like, "just do the best you can, and it will evolve naturally as the needs grow." (not an exact quote).
