New to this site.

intermediate guitar player and mostly self taught.

QUESTION:   need help with understanding the first of Ted's lessons.  Started w this one.

1st Inversion Major Triads with Bass on 5th String

I don't understand what Ted asked us to do for the first two lines to learn the intervals and chords first.
Can someone don't understand the first two lines of this lesson.  its confusing.

Hi Arbraun,
I assume you saw the second page with the filled-in blue dots.

The first line of the page is Ted showing you the ROOT with the black dot.  The number on the grid is showing you where that interval is located in relation to the root.
Based on this, he then shows in the second line the 1st inversion triads that are built around that root and those intervals.

For the filled-in dots page, one chord form was used for each of the exercises.
However, Ted probably wanted the student to mix up the forms in each example.  This would create more interesting melodies.
