to pay $100 dollars for teds book is sad, this is a man that obviously spent so much of his time giving away information to the interested learner,to capitalize on his warmth and generosity,is said to me. Barbra im poor, i don't make much mony, i try to grab spirt where i can and i thank ya, for the continue captivation of my creative spirit, through allowing Ted's information to be shared with me.

Wow!  When i posted this yesterday the price was $4.95.  What a shame.  Oh well, market determines the price.

Subject: Question about Ted Greene's Single Note Soloing Jazz Guitar Vol .2

Hi there,

I was just wondering if you still print copies of Ted Greene's Single Note Soloing Jazz Guitar Vol .2 or if you don't whether you have any plans to release it in the future?

I live in the UK and it seems impossible to pick this book up anywhere.

Thank You,
Gareth

So it looks like it may not be released in the winter after all, but here's hoping for a 2008 re-release.

Hi,
I am a guitar player from germany; I spend hours on the Internet to find Vol.2 but no luck in germany, too. I mailed the publisher and got the same response.
I am in the middle of Vol.1 and very curious how everything is evolving in the next book...and if I am evolving with it. It is a lot of fun!

First thing he takes you into is using arpeggio fragments to solo through changes. He notates an arpeggio so that a 4-6 notes get the chord color across, thus getting you in tune with playing the note essentials. Also he has pages of melodic patterns that will blow your mind. Is it legal to photo copy that book if it is out of print? I had a person e-mail asking me to do that. I would do it for people free of charge withholding the cost to print it. To tell you that truth I dont deserve it. I havent even got past that second set of major chord patterns. I will though. ONWARD in the pursuit of KNOW LEDGE and WISDOM

Look very carefully in the lessons section under single note - you will find it very very similar to vol.2 (maj. chord runs, arpeggio fragments) sshhhhh.

Copyright Infringment!!!!!!!. Just kidding, wow these must be the blue prints!! How did Ted come to write out all these killer licks Barbara, every lick you hear in the book hints at a large variety of American musical genres. Its awesome.

Thank you very much Barbara; I downloaded the material in the single note section. Thank you Sam for your little preview.
I ordered Volume 2 at a little used book shop in the Netherlands that had it for sale on the Internet; now they can not find the book anymore... They say that they keep on searching :-)

This forum is wonderful!

Thanks for the update, Jeff.
Interesting cover art.  Hmmm...that doesn't look like Ted, and don't know if he ever played with a female bassist!  :-)
Glad to see that SNS Vol.2 is going back into print.  Obviously all of the requests prompted a re-print.

I just emailed alfred begging them to drop that cover.  There are many things that we may not be sure of regarding Ted, but I'm positive he'd flip out at such an awful cover.  And even if he wouldn't, I am.

Single note soloing is not about 1961, the twist, or the new swept wing cars.  I'm betting this is Aaron Stang at it again.
